Strengthening The 1607 Club
A Safe Harbor for Recovery in Covington

For years, The 1607 Club, located at 1607 Eastern Avenue in Covington, Kentucky, has been a refuge for individuals and families seeking recovery from alcoholism and addiction. Everyday people walk through our doors looking for hope, connection, and a path toward healing. For many, this clubhouse is the first place they feel safe enough to say, "I need help." The 1607 Club is more than a building. It is a lifeline. And now it needs our support.

Why this campaign matters

Addiction continues to affect families in Northern Kentucky at an alarming rate. The need for safe, stable, and welcoming recovery spaces has never been greater. Yet our beloved Clubhouse— which has faithfully served the community since opening its doors—faces aging infrastructure and limitations that prevent us from fully meeting the needs of those who rely on us. We can do better.

To continue offering a safe, dignified, and healing environment, we must invest in essential improvements that will secure the future of The 1607 Club for years to come.

Our Vision for The 1607 Club

This capital campaign will fund critical maintenance and renovations that transform The 1607 Club into a safer, more accessible, and more welcoming space for all who seek recovery. These improvements are not about luxury. They are about safety, dignity, accessibility, and recovery.
These improvements include:

A New Roof

A secure, weather-tight roof is essential to protecting the building, ensuring safety, and preventing costly future damage.

Upgraded Bathrooms

Modern, clean, functional and accessible restrooms will provide dignity and comfort to everyone who enters the clubhouse, including newcomers who may be visiting for the first time.

Interior and Exterior Upgrades

First impressions matter. A refreshed, welcoming atmosphere—inside and out—will help newcomers feel safe, accepted, and encouraged to return.

Renovated Recreational Space

The recreational area in the rear of the building is a vital part of fellowship and community building. Renovations will create a warm, functional environment where members can gather, connect, and support one another.

Improved Sound Quality

Clear sound is essential for effective meetings. Upgraded acoustics and audio systems will ensure that every voice can be heard — especially for newcomers who need to hear the message of recovery.

The Need

While The 1607 Club has served the community with unwavering dedication, the building now faces significant challenges:

  • An aging roof vulnerable to leaks and structural issues.

  • Bathrooms that no longer meet functionality or capacity needs.

  • A recreational space that requires modernization to support fellowship.

  • Poor sound quality that makes meetings difficult to hear.

  • An exterior that does not reflect the warmth and hope found inside.

These issues create barriers for newcomers, long-timers, families, and anyone seeking a safe place to begin or continue their recovery journey.

Impact on Individuals and Families

When someone struggling with addiction walks into The 1607 Club, they are often at the lowest point in their life. A safe, clean, welcoming environment can make the difference between staying for a meeting—or walking back out the door.

A strengthened clubhouse means:

  • More people finding their first meeting.

  • More families receiving support.

  • More newcomers connecting with sponsors.

  • More long-timers staying engaged and giving back.
  • More lives saved.

Every improvement we make directly supports recovery.
